Everything you need to know about Deepwoken’s rarest seasonal headgear — raw stats, efficient boss farming routes, dye combinations, and whether it actually fits your build.
TL;DR
Is the Kyrsmas Hat Worth Grinding?
Short answer: yes, if you care about drip and exclusivity. The Kyrsmas Hat is a Unique-rarity head equipment item introduced during the 2024 Kyrsmas Event. It provides a solid +10 Health, +1 Posture, and one Legendary Pip, making it a respectable option for mid-to-endgame builds. But the real value is its extreme rarity outside the event window and its clean, dyeable aesthetic that goes hard with almost any outfit.
According to developer Agamatsu, the hat doesn’t get fully removed from drop pools after Kyrsmas ends — instead, its drop rate gets cranked up to absurd levels, making it effectively impossible to obtain outside the event. So if you want one, grind during the event or regret it for the rest of the season.
01 // Quick Stats
Kyrsmas Hat — Full Stat Breakdown
Here’s everything the wiki tells you, presented cleanly.
That +1 Legendary Pip is what separates this from other event cosmetics. Legendary Pips have a higher stat ceiling than Rare or Uncommon pips, meaning a good roll on this hat can push it into genuinely competitive territory. At base, you’re looking at a minimum of +10 HP and +1 Posture before any pip rolls kick in.

How to Farm the Kyrsmas Hat
The Kyrsmas Hat is a rare drop from two specific bosses in the Second Layer (Layer 2). It does not drop from random chests, NPCs, or any other source. You need to kill one of the following bosses during the Kyrsmas event window (typically late December through early January):
|
🩸
Chaser, Scholar of the Crimson Contract Layer 2, Floor 1 — Cathedral of Ethiron Difficulty: Moderate. Humanoid boss who uses long-range blood mantras channeled through jars scattered around the cathedral. Core Mechanic: Destroy the blood jars around the arena to weaken him. Once all jars are broken, he enters Phase 2 and smashes through the floor. Key Tip: Chaser has zero armor resistance — penetration stats are wasted. Focus on raw damage mantras. Use dash (Q) to dodge his grab. |
🦴
Scion of Ethiron Layer 2, Floor 2 — New Kyrsa Bedchamber Difficulty: Easier than it looks. Despite being the “final boss” of the Second Layer, considered one of the easier fights once you understand the bone mechanic. Core Mechanic: Pick up thrown bones and place them into the nine corresponding shrines to stun the boss. Use the stun window for heavy damage. Key Tip: Physical attacks deal 25% less damage; Elemental attacks deal double. For the ultimate attack: slide, wait for sound cue, then jump + air-dash. |
Fastest Farm Route: Chaser Speed-Run
Chaser is generally the faster and more accessible farm target. Here’s the optimized route:
Get to the Second Layer. You need a Light Hook (or go hookless for the Triumph). Enter through the standard Layer 2 entrance.
Navigate to the Maw of Ethiron. Have an optimized, low-risk path planned. The crumbling platforms and Bonekeepers are bigger threats than Chaser himself. Dash helps enormously.
Trigger the Nest Corridor. Walk through the Bounder nest between Firfire Caverns and the Maw. This is one of the spawn requirements for Chaser. You don’t need to kill the Bounders — just run through.
Power the generator and open a door at spawn. Chaser won’t spawn if the generator is off or if neither entrance door has been opened.
Fight Chaser. Break the blood jars, dodge his grabs, and finish him. The Kyrsmas Hat (if it drops) appears in the chest he drops upon defeat.
The Kyrsmas Hat technically remains in the drop pool year-round, but outside the event its rarity is jacked up to essentially impossible levels. If you want this hat, grind during Kyrsmas (late December – early January). Don’t expect to randomly find one in March.
If you manage to kill four of the six Bounders in the Nest Corridor, they drop a chest with loot comparable to Chaser’s. This means you technically have a shot at the Kyrsmas Hat without even fighting Chaser — though the Bounders are extremely dangerous and not designed to be killed normally.
03 // Drip & Dye
How It Looks: Dye Showcase
The Kyrsmas Hat’s default look is a blurple Santa hat with a miniature Frozen Membrane bauble at the tip that emits glowing particle effects. When you apply Armor Dye, both the hat fabric and the bauble change color together, making it extremely versatile for outfit matching.
Here’s how the hat looks across popular dye choices in the community:
Best Outfit Pairings
Void Black + Dark Owl Cloak for maximum edge. Default Blurple + Ministry Cloak for a clean purple theme. Crimson + Mercenary’s Garb if you’re running a Bloodrend build and want your kit to match your oath. The bauble particles take on the dye color too, so your character gets subtle ambient glow that complements the overall look.
04 // Build Analysis
Is the Kyrsmas Hat Good for Your Build?
Let’s be honest: the Kyrsmas Hat is not best-in-slot for any min-maxed build. But it’s surprisingly competitive for a seasonal item, and the drip factor alone makes it worth considering if you’re not running the absolute tryhard helmet meta.
Head Slot Comparison
| Helmet | HP | Posture | Pips | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kyrsmas Hat | +10 | +1 | 1 Leg | Dyeable, bankable, event-exclusive |
| Silver Knight’s Helm | +30 | — | Varies | Best raw HP helmet in the game |
| Khan Helmet | — | +2 | Varies | Top posture pick for tank builds |
| Tillian’s Beret | — | — | Varies | Highest theoretical Ether ceiling |
| Dark Owl Chapeau | — | — | 1 Rare + 1 Leg | +5% Shadow Armor, +Giantslayer talent |
Who Should Use It?
|
Hybrid
HP + Posture Hybrid Builds If you’re running a build that benefits from both Health and Posture without fully committing to one, the Kyrsmas Hat gives you a bit of both. The Legendary Pip can roll into Physical Armor % for extra defensive value. |
Drip
Fashion-First Builds Let’s be real — half the playerbase optimizes for drip over stats. The Kyrsmas Hat with a good dye is hard to beat. The particle effects from the Frozen Membrane bauble are visible to other players and instantly signal that you grinded the event. |
|
|
PvE
Casual PvE / Progression For non-competitive PvE content, the Kyrsmas Hat is more than adequate. +10 HP and +1 Posture won’t make or break a Layer 2 run, and the Legendary Pip adds nice flexibility. It’s a solid “good enough” pick while you farm for your endgame helmet. |
PvP
Competitive PvP (Not Recommended) For serious PvP min-maxing, you’ll likely want a Silver Knight’s Helm (raw HP) or Khan Helmet (posture stacking). The Kyrsmas Hat’s stats are nice but not enough to compete at the highest level. Use it as vanity if you want the look without the stat loss. |
